Week 4 - Level 4 CSS

I am going to attend the CSS meeting on June 3rd and join other team members for the tour of the TBBC.

See you on Friday, June 3rd, 2011

Thank you,

Kiran B Patel

Week 4-Level 3 Talking Book and Braille Center

I checked out the TBBC website and glad to know that we can check TBBC website for audiobooks that are not even listed in WorldCat.org or Amazon.  It will help me a lot at the reference desk.

Week 4 - Level 2 WEBSITES

I explored three websites; Guys Read, Meddybemps and Teacher Vision.  I liked Meddybemps, which has parent's guide, teacher's guide and games.  I am going to add all these sites into my Delicious account and use them professionally at the CYA desk.

Week 4 - Level 1 GAMES

I had a fun time playing Mythology Island at the  Poptropica game site.  I think, kids can learn while having fun!

We have two Early Literacy Stations in the Children's room and children use them regularly.

Our CYA librarian recommended me the great game site, http://pbskids.org/ which I totally love it.

Week 3 - Level 4 MORE WIKIS

I created a Google site at https://sites.google.com/site/nutleypubliclibrarynewjersey/

I am planning to share this site with my co-workers to organize "One Book Nutley - Reading Together" program.

Week 3 - Level 3 WIKIS

I think NJLA wiki and most of the CSS pages are not updated recently. NJLA wiki was last modified on 7 June 2010 and some of the CSS pages updated 7 or 9 months ago: for example; the latest Children's Services Meeting Minutes is for  9 January 2009. There are 88 entries listed under Childrens Services.  Can these entries be arranged in some kind of order?

WEEK 3 - Level 2 CRAFTS

I added a following craft site to my Delicious:

The best feature of this site: 1000s of Free Printable and Coloring Pages.
We can print copies of these coloring pages and give out to kids so they can color them.

I took the following picture from our library's website and posted here:
